Men, we can keep Christ in front of Christmas for our families. There are two Manger Build events scheduled for December in the Elizabeth River District.

The Sound of Joy

In 2015, the men of Hickory United Methodist Church decided to sponsor The Manger Build project to assist/teach a child to build a manger. We had 34 kids and men building, plus team members present with over 75 participants total. As I walked through the "work shop", one of the men suggested we needed ear plugs due to the noise level with kids and men talking, hammering, and laughter. My response was "oh no that's the sound of joy"!  

For just a moment, I imagined how Simeon may have felt when Joseph and Mary took Jesus to the temple on the 8th day. It was complete and unbridled joy I was experiencing, and you could feel the presence of Christ in that place.  

Men, take a look at the Manger Build, then set your calendar, arrange priorities and spend some quality time with a child, don't miss the opportunity. There are two events scheduled in the Elizabeth River District. Plan now to attend!
